Spa and Culture – We have offered this exclusive programme for 15 years to guests who want to explore the cultural landscape of Lake Constance off the beaten paths. A programme that combines body and mind, and leisure with broader horizons: Following the spa treatments offered during the week, Werner Trapp, Dr. Franz Hofmann, Ralf Seuffert and David Bruder, four connoisseurs of the Lake Constance landscape with numerous publications, offer excursions to selected attractions in the region every weekend. Their motto is "Discover unknown Lake Constance". This not only means exploring new places that often even local residents know little about, but also seeing apparently familiar sights from a new perspective.
The excursions include six different special guided tours to Constance alone, guests can delve into the hidden corners of the old imperial city of Überlingen, trace Meersburg’s path from the residence of the prince-bishops to a "fairytale town on Lake Constance", or explore the old town of Stein am Rhein from a new perspective. From spring to autumn, we also offer excursions to lesser-known places: to the old town of Schaffhausen, which is still largely undiscovered by tourists, to stations along the Way of St. James in Thurgau or along the Bodan ridge, to the small castle of Arenenberg, Birnau pilgrim’s church, to the former Jewish villages on the Höri peninsula or historic gems such as Engen in Hegau or Diessenhofen on the Upper Rhine. Whole-day excursions take you to Überlingen Lake, to Eastern Switzerland and the historic cultural landscape around Salem monastery.
The groups are small and allow you to get to know each other, chat and ask the excursion leader questions. The destinations are chosen so that they can be easily reached with two minibuses. And there is always enough time for a cup of coffee in the afternoon or a glass of wine in the evening, with the chance to find out more about the places you have visited. Ask at the reception desk for more information.
